According to VentureBeat, Bethesda’s parent company (Zenimax) has filed a trademark request for the term “Hearthfire” to the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office. Those privy to the lore of the Elder Scroll series may know that this term is name of the ninth month on Tamriel’s calendar, making people speculate that it is Skyrim related. Also, the trademark description, which reads “Computer game software for use with computers and video game consoles; downloadable computer game software offered via the internet and wireless devices,” lends some credence to the new content being Skyrim DLC.
Apparently, the listing has been removed from the Patent and Trademark Office’s site, but we’ll keep you updated if anything becomes a bit more solid.
