Yesterday, we reported that there was an announcement from Sega regarding the Yakuza series. While the announcement wasn’t supposed to come until Thursday, an early issue of Famitsu pretty much confirms what the announcement was going to be about. Just like speculation pointed towards, Sega is going to release an HD collection that includes Yakuza 1 and Yakuza 2.

Right now, listings have slated the game for a November 1st release in Japan (on PS3 of course). This is a 1 month difference than the date that Sega leaked a few weeks ago. In addition to the HD graphics that you can expect from an HD collection, Sega has improved a couple of other aspects. Load times have been reduced drastically, and you can also manage your item box from the phone booth. These additions will make gameplay much less tiresome than it was in the PS2 classics. A few more changes should be revealed tomorrow if this is indeed the announcement that Sega was teasing. We will be reporting on new information tomorrow, if there is any.

Will you guys be picking up the Yakuza HD Collection?
