Octo related jokes aside, Microsoft has confirmed that Windows 8 will launch in late October.
A set date in October hasn’t been announced yet, but Microsoft’s chief marketing officer Tami Reller, speaking at the Worldwide Partner Conference in Toronto, was adamant that it will be available by the end of October without fail.
Microsoft also confirmed that users who purchased a Windows 7 PCs from today could upgrade to Windows 8 Pro for just $14.99 upon its release.
