Gamers have a new indie title coming out soon that looks rather interesting. From the creative minds of Nyamyam is their first title, Tengami.

Set to be released in 2013, Tengami puts the player in a world that is greatly inspired by Japanese arts and crafts. The environment around is entirely composed of paper pop-up artwork. You will be able to traverse through the world by manipulating the environment’s pop-up elements.

Marketed as an adventure game with inspiration around Japanese fairy tales, Tengami will be available first for the iPad and later the iPhone, PC, and Mac. Any news on if the game would make it to other consoles is unknown at this time.

Nyamyam is an independent game company that was created in 2010 by Jennifer Schneidereit and Phil Tossell. Jennifer Schneidereit has had past experience working with Japanese company Acquire (the company responsible for such titles like Tenchu, Way of the Samurai, and Shinobido). Phil Tossell has had various experiences working on Nintendo games like Starfox Adventures and Xbox 360 titles like Kameo and Kinect Sports. Both met at Rare when they worked on Kinect Sports before they left to develop Nyamyam.

Tengami was created by both Phil and Jennifer along with Ryo Agarie. Animation work is done by Christiaan Moleman with music by David Wise.

Anyone looking forward to this new indie title?
