Tim Schafer (AKA that awesome guy you wish you were) has been announced as being the host, or “Master of Ceremonies” at the Child’s Play charity event at Ümloud! in San Francisco.

If you don’t know who Tim Schafer is, well then shame on you! He’s been, for a lack of a better word, one of the most awesome developers on projects like Grim Fandango, Psychonauts, Brutal Legend, and Costume Quest. Ümloud! has decided to have Tim Schafer be the one to head all the events. At the event, there will be about a dozen bands performing as well as Rock Band 3.

The event will happen on December 6 and will take place at San Francisco’s DNA Lounge. If you wish to seek out tickets to this event, go here. If you wish to be a participating band, you can go to this link but you’ll need to hurry up. There are limited slots for signing up for a band package. To sign up for a package, you’ll have to pay $200. Once signed up, you’ll receive some goodies, have the chance at being photographed for participation evidence, and you’ll get to play too–that’s the most important.

I shall close with this comment from Tim Schafer himself, but if you’re interested make sure you head on over to the links:

Everyone knows gamers have big hearts—and that’s not just because of the sedentary lives many of us live. It’s because we understand the value of community, of giving back, and Ümloud! is the perfect way to have a rockin’ evening while supporting Child Play’s noble efforts in taking care of the next generation of gamers.
