I don’t know about you guys, but when I read this I kind of stopped breathing for a bit. The Binding of Isaac was one of the best games I have ever played, and now it’s going to be remade for consoles. Finally, Ed McMillen has read my thoughts and brought my biggest dreams to light. I am a tad excited.

The news was announced through his official Formspring page today. He said that the game is not only being ported, but completely remade using an actual engine instead of flash. But the development is not the only thing that is changing. The remade version of The Binding of Isaac will contain the Wrath of Lamb expansion, new modes, bosses, items, playable characters, co-op and other additions that could not be included in the Flash version of the game. It’s like an orgasm of new content. I can’t contain myself right now.

As of now, there is no knowing which console that the remake will be released on. They could release it on the PS3, or they could release it on the Xbox 360. Personally, I think they should release it on both (Both companies have shown interest). If anything, I think PS3 would be more logical, if only because Microsoft charges so much to patch games (any PC Isaac players will know that the game needs constant patching). Only time will tell exactly what we have in store.
