People have always talked about the negative effect that playing video games had on kids, but for some reason I don’t think this is exactly what they had in mind. Spending too much time playing video games has been known to cause laziness, weight gain, and other things, but now it looks like it caused one teenagers death.

A teenager in Taiwan figured he was going to have a pretty fun filled couple of days. He went ahead and booked a private room at his favorite cafe, and instantly went to work on his intense gaming spree. 40 hours of Diablo III later, an attendant went in to check on him, finding him passed out on a table. While he was able to get up and acknowledge the attendant, he instantly collapsed, being pronounced dead a bit later. The cause of death is still being investigated, but it is assumed to be cardiovascular problems caused by long periods of sitting.

The lesson? Don’t play too much Diablo III. It can be deadly.
