Nintendo Power got the goods this month on one of the Wii U’s most anticipated games, Scribblenauts Unlimited. I’m not anticipating it, but I’m sure it has big enough following that is willing to throw money at Nintendo for another batch of Scribblenauts goodness. Nintendo Power has confirmed that Scribblenauts Unlimited will support up to three Wii Motes and one Wii U Gamepad. This could favor well or bode poorly for the short straw stuck with the Wii U Gamepad. While the Wii U Gamepad will treat you with a different experience than their Wii Mote comrades, you could be stuck with a totally lame support role, like drawing out the floor on which your buddies walk. Scribblenauts Unlimited will host all new features that we didn’t see the first time around in the original game, such as:
- Players will learn about Maxwell’s motivations and how he got ahold of his notebook
- Super Scribblenauts let you choose between controlling Max by switching between button and touchscreen controls in a menu
- In Scribblenauts Unlimited, the GamePad lets you use either method at any time
- More onscreen objects thanks to the power of Wii U
- Super Scribblenauts let you have 12 items at once; Scribblenauts Unlimited lets you have around 60
- More realistic water
- New shaders, cool particle effects, and more
- Up to three others can join in with Wiimotes at anytime
