PS Vita PS One Classic CompatibilityThe PS One Compatibility for the PS Vita has been in the pipeline even before the release of the handheld console. This past June at E3, it was again confirmed during Sony’s press conference, but the answer to when it would be available was never answered. If we are to believe “an inside source”, we may now have an answer.

According to Xtreme PSVita, through an unnamed source,  the compatibility will be available the week of Gamescom next month. Firmware 1.80 is scheduled to be released the week of Sunday, August 12th. Speculation is that the compatibility will be announced and released on August 14th, when Sony has thier press conference.

Remember, if you already have PS One Classic games sitting on your PS3, you will be able direct download from Playstation Network to your PS Vita for no cost.
