PETA, you know that somewhat extremist pro-animal organization, is setting its sights on the beloved Pokemon franchise for its supposed anti-animal propaganda. In reponse they released a game parody of Pokemon Black and White titled “Pokemon Black and Blue”.

Within this short game you recruit actual Pokemon and lead them in a charge against their terrifyingly evil masters. For instance, Black and White’s Professor Juniper looks like a barber from Hell.

This shameless recreation actually has some solid, Pokemon like fighting mechanics. Your Pokemon will wield some protest like moves such as “shame” and “group hug” meant to promote peace. In the end I still thundershocked Cheren to death, so I’m getting sort of a mixed message.

At the end of the day, one wonders why Nintendo can’t just sue them. Though it does make sense. They don’t want the “Anti-Animal” card pulled on them by trying to protect their copyright.

All this game did was make me more likely to go out and buy Pokemon Black and White 2.
