Grand Theft Auto III is a landmark game in video game history. For years, GTA III has inspired an onslaught of open world games ranging from the serious to the ridiculous. But there can only be one GTA III, and mod community at GTAForums are bringing it back to this generation.
The good ‘ol boys and girls over at the GTAForums are realizing a full remake of GTA III using the Rage engine utilized in GTA IV. They aren’t just swapping Niko for Claude here folks; we’re talking about Liberty City circa GTA III and all of the original missions we’ve grown to love.

The fun doesn’t end here by a long shot. There is also another team working with the Rage engine to remake the original Grand Theft Auto. It’s the same overhead gameplay you love with a prettier paint job.
