Could it be the name of their next-gen system? Xbox Eight? That sounds dumb.

A code name for Microsoft’s new project, brought to us by eight of their best developers?

Okay, so that last one is a heck of a stretch. My best guess is that it has something to do with Windows 8, but seriously, how exciting is that?

Or…

Maybe they’re calling the next system The Xbox Infinity.

Microsoft has secured several domain names recently, one of which is Xbox 8. These names were acquired when the company won disputes in May over a resident in China who originally registered them. According to GameInformer.com, “Microsoft often acquires various domain names as part of its ongoing business strategy, but beyond that we have no comment.”

Any other hunches as to what this could mean?
