In an interview with Digital Spy, Madsen of THQ stated that Metro: Last Light was never in development for Wii U. Hmmm, yet a video reel of third-party Wii U games at Nintendo’s E3 conference last year included footage of Last Light. Now, I know this wasn’t Wii U footage, but it was footage of games that were coming to Wii U. So, did THQ just completely use Nintendo’s video reel for their own gain? We’ll let you make your own opinion about that. Below are the important parts of the interview:
Not at the moment, it’s not in development, Madsen told Digital Spy.
If it does happen, it won’t sim-ship with the other SKUs, but if the opportunity arises we’ll take a look at it.
When asked about E3 2011 and Last Light being in the Wii U video reel:
No I don’t think it was a bit too early [to show the game at E3]. As we got along in the development process, we just really wanted to focus on what we knew, focus on PS3, 360 and PC, he explained.
The verdict is out on what we can do to maximise the code for the Wii U, and we’ll see [what happens].
Sounds a bit fishy to me. Let’s hope this isn’t a continuous issue with third-party support on Wii U.
