I think we can pretty much count a Final Fantasy XIII-3 in the works since Square
Enix recently said that they plan on unveiling some news on Lightning’s further development.
During the 25th Anniversary event for the Final Fantasy series on September 1, Square Enix plans to present “new information about the direction of Lightning’s story” of which will be handled partly by “Key members of the Final Fantasy XIII development team including the Producer, Director, and Art Director.”
It’s quite interesting because the final bout of her story was thought to have been in the Final Fantasy XIII-2 DLC, Requiem of the Goddess. I’ve never played the Final Fantasy XIII games, but for those who have (and weren’t livid with the games), you might like this.
All I know is that I’m still waiting to see what becomes of Final Fantasy Versus XIII. I know some people may be sick of hearing it, but i’m still hoping that game will come out and be awesome and all. Who knows? Maybe we’ll also hear something about Final Fantasy Type-0 localization or some more info on the revamped Final Fantasy XIV.
We’ll all just have to stay tuned for the day September 1 arrives. Until then, you at least know some Final Fantasy XIII-related news will be presented.
