Oh Christmas, a time for American consumerism, gallant gift giving, and rampant deal hunting, French developer Frogwares is ready to bring its brand of British mystery to the 2012 Holiday season.

A new batch of screens emerged today from overseas showing off the 3DS’ latest puzzler, Sherlock Holmes and the Mystery of the Frozen City, showing the world’s greatest detective solving the case of the icy encampment.

While we don’t know much about the game’s overall premise and gameplay mechanics, if these screens are any indication it will mostly involve character interrogation, extensive puzzle solving, and certain crime scene investigation sections.

Move over Layton, there’s a new detective in town.

Sherlock Holmes and the Mystery of the Frozen City will be released Q4 of this year on the Nintendo 3DS.
