When I first saw Hawken, I was slightly disappointed to see that it would be launching on the PC. Since I don’t have a very good gaming computer, I figured I wouldn’t be able to get my hands on it. Thankfully for me and other console gamers alike, Adhesive Games is planning a console release, regardless of the fact that their main focus is the PC beta launch in December.
In an interview with Beefjack, Adhesive Games co-founder Chris Lalli revealed that a console release is “Definitely on the Horizon”. I’m assuming that by this he means the development team will port the game to consoles. While they definitely see this in their future, he also goes on to confirm that the PC beta release in December is their main focus. This makes sense, considering why would you port a game if it fares poorly on the original console?
Hawken looks really cool, and I am really excited to see that they plan on bringing it to consoles. Anything that has to do with running around in a mech shooting things gets me all hot and bothered. Hawken will be free to play, so there’s really no reason to not give it a shot. I know that I will at least try running the beta on my PC when it comes out.
