In a bit of “Well duh!” type news, GameStop announced that many of their stores will be closed down due to Hurricane Sandy blasting its way along the east coast. This means, for many, that there will be no Assassin’s Creed III midnight release parties.

Many other stores have also closed down in lieu of the mighty storm. Ubisoft is also strongly suggesting to people to stay inside and don’t try and head out to see if your local GameStop store is open. Any customers should contact their local GameStop stores to see when the best time to actually head out to get your game will be. Right now though, I think it’s pretty safe to say that you should just stay in.

To all the people out on the east coast, I hope you’re all doing okay. I’ve seen many notices and pictures of Manhattan losing most of its power with only a select few structures still holding onto their light sources. Just please do not risk life and limb to try and obtain a game. It’ll be waiting for you when this all tides over.
