Racing games have taken a step back in the past few years, with only a few notable titles being released. That being said, some of the classic racing games are still going strong, such as Forza (which is getting a new installment called Forza Horizon), and Need for Speed. During EA’s press conference, they went into detail regarding their upcoming Need for Speed title, Need for Speed: Most Wanted.

For any of you who saw the footage, I’m sure you can agree that it was pretty awesome. The only impressions that I got was that instead of being a classic Need for Speed title, it was going more in the way of an open world game, similar to Forza Horizon. With that, I also felt like it was trying to be a combination of Burnout’s “crash” mode, and GTA’s driving aspects. While it looked better than GTA, it still seemed to have an emphasis on the “messing around” that people love to do so much in Grand Theft Auto. Not to say that it’s a bad thing. I don’t mind driving around and smashing up some cop cars.

The whole goal of the game is to become the “Most Wanted” driver, which is accomplished by being bad, winning races, and getting your name out there. Do you think you can become the Most Wanted? I guess you will have to wait until the game releases on October 30th to see.
