You all know the XBLA game, Fez, right? The one where you play as a little fez-wearing guy who must navigate through a rotating world? Well, there has been a recent patch released and it’s very clear now that you should NOT download it.
The patch was released about a day or two ago according to Blistered Thumbs. The patch, while initially made to help fix some minor bugs and glitches, can actually corrupt your save files for the game.
This is the quote from Polytron’s (the company responsible for the game) website:
There is an issue that seems fairly widespread where the save file can be seen as corrupted by the game after installing the patch. We’re floored that this wasn’t found in testing. For the moment, deleting your system cache should resolve the issue, but if that fails, there is no known workaround. We’ll keep you updated on the situation.
If the patch has already been installed on your systems, I’d stop playing it for right now until Polytron can figure out what the deal is with their patch. If you haven’t installed, then take this a precautionary warning to not download the patch at any costs…unless you like dealing with corrupted save files in your games.
Polytron said they will keep up on updates. We’ll do the same here at GamingUnwrapped.
