Dead Space: Catalyst, a novel set – like 2010′s Dead Space: Martyr – well before the events of the original game.

Publisher Tor Books announced the novel will be penned by sci-fi author and Martyr writer B.K. Evenson, and are aiming for a release date of October 2th 2012. Have a blurb:

“Dead Space: Catalyst takes place three hundred years in the future, where mankind is tampering with the dangerous alien technology gleaned from the Black Marker, an ancient alien artifact discovered on Earth centuries earlier.
