Konami has given a release window for the laborious titled  3DS spin-off of Castlevania: Lord Of Shadow, Castlevania Lord Of Shadow – Mirror Of Fate. As expected (by myself, at least) we won’t be seeing Mirror Of Fate until early 2013.

“It’s been two years since the enormous success of Castlevania Lords of Shadow, and with this next installment, we want to take the necessary time needed to give fans a handheld title unlike any other,” said Dave Cox, Producer of Castlevania: Lords of Shadow 2 and Head of Product Planning and Development for Konami Digital Entertainment GmbH. “Castlevania: Lords of Shadow – Mirror of Fate will bridge the storyline to Castlevania: Lords of Shadow 2, also planned to release in 2013. Both titles will reveal the shocking fate of the Belmont Clan in a dramatic culmination of the Lords of Shadow saga.”

Much like what we’ve seen in the past with handheld entries of console series, whether it be God Of War or Kingdom Hearts, Castlevania: Lord Of Shadow – Mirror Of Fate will act as a bridge between Lord Of Shadows and Lord Of Shadow 2, taking place 25 years after the first Lord Of Shadow. The game will revolve around Gabriel Belmont’s descendents Simon and Trevor Belmont. I imagine they discover some sort of mirror that happens to reveal fates, like what they will eat for breakfast next Tuesday.

Castlevania: Lord Of Shadow – Mirror Of Fate will launch exclusively for the 3DS in early 2013. If console gaming is more your speed, Castlevania Lord Of Shadows will be released on the PS3, 360 and PC sometime in early 2013.
