Borderlands 2, which came out last week to universal praise, has seemed to be stricken ill with a game bug. This bug does not bode well for anyone playing the game either.

The bug has been said to be found on all platforms and is triggered quite randomly. In a nutshell, the bug pretty much wipes away your Badass rank (which also means the loss of Badass tokens), no matter how high, right back to zero. The bug also wipes out all of your golden keys, heads, and skins that you’ve unlocked or are holding at the time. To add more insult to injury, menus and markers that record your progress don’t reset so you can’t go and redo or re-unlock all that you have lost.

Some PS3 and PC users have stated that quitting the game without saving has helped alleviate the effects of the game bug, but it still is a serious issue for those who want to get through this game. Gearbox and 2K have been made aware of the situation and are, hopefully, getting to work on it ASAP so it doesn’t end up getting too out of control. Chris Faylor, the Community Manager of Gearbox had this to say about the bug:

Thanks for all the reports and specific details, folks. Our engineers are looking into this, and the information you’ve provided has proven to be a great resource while we investigate. At the moment, it seems to be a fairly rare issue and we’ll keep you updated on when we resolve it.

Have any of you been victim to the Borderlands 2 bug? What are your thoughts?
