Awhile back, there were reports of a bug on Borderlands 2 that was wiping out Badass Ranks across the board. It seems that the Xbox 360 version of said game is facing more problems that is being trademarked as a “virus” and “sabotage.”
The issue comes in the form of an exploit called “Graveyard.” The exploit was found when save files began to get hacked by users to access a hardcore mode left within the game code. It’s been reported that online players who fought against players with the exploit enabled have found their characters permanently wiped after facing an in-game death.
Reports have still been coming in to Microsoft despite the fact that a patch has been sent out.
Gearbox has stated that there’s a simple way to work around this issue until they along with Microsoft can figure out how to deal with the issue: players should play only against trusted people (i.e. friends and family that you know), that you exit game sessions through ‘Save & Quit’ on the in-game pause menu, and select Continue if you find yourself at the main menu after dying.
