Blizzard is implementing a new system to try and bring back some of their old players. If a newer player brings back one of their old members, there will be prizes awarded to not only the player’s resurrector, but the veteran will gain some special bonuses as well.
For the person who brought back a previous player, a free spectral Wind Rider or Gryphon mount shall be received. For the returning player, a few better perks are rewarded. Returning players will be instantly raised to level 80 on one of their accounts, as well as being upgraded to the Cataclysm update for free. Along with this, they will be transfered to their friends realm, as well as receive 7 free days of play time.
A little bit desperate eh, Blizzard? This might be in reaction to the competition they are getting on the MMORPG front, but still, this is a little much. I’m sure this will bring back a few old players, or just encourage people to cheat to get to a higher level. In order to prevent the latter, only accounts that went inactive before March 4th may be recovered.
